External Beeswax Oval Mortice/Rim Knob Set – From The Anvil 92065

The External Beeswax Oval Mortice/Rim Knob Set forms part of the From The Anvil Blacksmith range. Its traditional oval shape and richly textured finish make it an excellent choice for period homes, cottages, barn conversions and rustic interiors.

You can fit each knob flush to the door using the supplied loose collar when installing it with a mortice lock or latch. Alternatively, use the collar with a traditional rim lock to achieve an authentic period appearance.

This versatile oval door knob set works with a wide range of heavy-duty locks, latches and thumb turns. Because the knobs are unsprung, the spring inside the lock or latch returns them smoothly to their original position after use. For the best performance, pair them with a 3″, 4″ or 5″ heavy-duty latch or lock.

The set includes two matching oval escutcheons together with stainless steel wood screws, giving you everything needed for installation.

External Beeswax Finish

From The Anvil developed the External Beeswax finish specifically for external ironmongery. Their unique anti-corrosive beeswax treatment helps protect the metal against moisture and changing weather conditions.

Unlike black powder coating, this finish offers a softer, more traditional matt appearance. It also develops a rich depth of colour, ranging from deep blue and black tones to warm ochre reds. As a result, every piece has its own distinctive character.

Although the finish already provides excellent protection, regular maintenance will help keep it looking its best. Simply apply a small amount of Maintenance Wax with a soft cloth or brush from time to time. This additional layer protects the surface, helps repel the elements and prolongs the life of the finish.

For properties in exposed coastal or high-weather areas, we recommend more frequent maintenance to preserve both the appearance and protective qualities of the beeswax finish.
