From The Anvil developed the External Beeswax finish specifically for applications where additional protection is required. Using a specialist anti-corrosive beeswax treatment, they produce a finish that has successfully passed a 480-hour salt spray test, making it ideal for both internal and sheltered external use.
The finish has a rich matt appearance with natural tones ranging from deep blue through to warm red ochre. Consequently, every escutcheon develops subtle colour variations that enhance its handcrafted appearance and complement traditional ironmongery.
The hinged cover provides additional protection for the keyhole while maintaining the clean, elegant lines of the door furniture. As a result, it offers both practical functionality and timeless style.

Occasionally, you may notice a light white bloom on the finish after unpacking. This is a natural characteristic of beeswax products and can occur because of temperature changes during storage or transport. Simply buff the surface gently with a soft cloth to restore its rich appearance.
Although the External Beeswax finish already provides excellent protection against moisture and weather, applying a small amount of From The Anvil Maintenance Wax from time to time will help preserve its appearance and provide additional protection.
