External Beeswax Avon Escutcheon Features
From The Anvil developed the External Beeswax finish specifically for locations where traditional beeswax finishes may require additional protection. Using a specialist anti-corrosive beeswax treatment, they create a finish that has successfully passed a 480-hour salt spray test, making it ideal for both internal and external applications.
The finish has a beautiful matt appearance with subtle tones that range from deep blue through to warm red ochre. Consequently, every escutcheon develops its own individual character while retaining the authentic appearance of hand-forged ironmongery.

Occasionally, you may notice a light white bloom on the finish after unpacking. This natural effect can occur because of temperature changes or packaging conditions. Simply buff the surface gently with a soft cloth to restore its rich appearance.
Although the External Beeswax finish offers excellent protection against moisture and weather, applying a small amount of From The Anvil Maintenance Wax from time to time will help preserve its appearance and provide additional protection against the elements.
