A charming and decorative set of original French Art Deco knife rests, known as porte couteaux. This non-repeatable set of four features beautifully modelled animal designs: Monkey, Hen, Cockerel, and Swan, each with its own distinctive character.
Knife rests have been used for centuries to keep cutlery elevated between courses, protecting table surfaces and tablecloths from marks while adding an elegant finishing touch to the dining table. These examples display a time-worn dark grey patina, enhancing their vintage appeal.
