Vintage Excelda Varnish & Paint Sample Sales Board – Original Shop Display

A wonderfully characterful vintage Excelda varnish and paint sample sales board, presented in its original condition. Once used as a practical shop display, the board features a selection of painted colour samples beneath the original “High Class Varnish Paint” advertising panel.

The wooden board displays a lovely range of period colours, including creams, greens, browns, reds, blues and yellow. The original printed header advertises Excelda Brand Varnish Paint, complete with the historic 6d price markings.

This is a genuine vintage piece rather than a reproduction. It shows plenty of age-related wear, marks, scratches, paint loss and fading, all of which form part of its history and appeal. We have left it exactly as it is rather than attempting to clean or restore it.

Previously used as a display piece in our shop, it would make an unusual addition to a vintage interior, workshop, studio or collection of old advertising and decorating memorabilia. It also looks particularly good displayed against rustic timber or alongside other reclaimed pieces.
