Vintage Bisque Jointed Doll – Sailor Suit & Hat – 10cm

A charming vintage bisque jointed doll dressed in a traditional sailor suit and matching hat. Full of character and nostalgic appeal, this delightful miniature doll would make a wonderful addition to a doll collection, vintage display, theatre prop collection, or decorative cabinet.

This bisque-fired doll features articulated arms and legs connected by internal metal bands. As a result, each limb moves independently and gently dangles when the doll is held. Although the doll cannot sit without support, it displays beautifully when propped within a collection or display cabinet.

Hand-painted details include black eyes, rosy cheeks, orange-red lips, and blonde hair. Pale blue detailing highlights the sailor suit, while glossy black painted shoes complete the outfit. A stamped number 3701 appears on the back of the doll.

Vintage Bisque Doll Condition

The doll remains in good condition for its age and retains its original painted details. However, it shows a few light marks consistent with age and use.

Construction

Internal metal bands connect the arms and legs, allowing each limb to move independently. Consequently, the arms and legs hang loosely when the doll is held, which is typical of this style of vintage jointed doll.

Origin

The previous owner informed us that the doll originated in France. However, we cannot verify this claim and therefore sell the doll without attributing a confirmed country of manufacture.
