The bell combines a solid cast brass bell with a substantial cast iron fixed bracket, giving it an authentic appearance that works particularly well in period, vintage and traditional interiors. It is equally at home above the door of an independent shop or café as it is in a hallway, workshop, utility room or back entrance.

Traditional Brass Shopkeeper’s Bell

The solid brass bell produces a clear, pleasant ring when operated by the opening door. As well as being practical, the warm brass finish provides an attractive contrast against the darker cast iron bracket.

The brass is designed to age naturally over time. However, if you prefer a brighter appearance, simply polish it occasionally with a suitable brass polish.

Fixed Cast Iron Door Bracket

A strong cast iron bracket supports the bell and projects approximately 20.5 cm from the fixing surface. Unlike an adjustable bracket, this version has a fixed shape and position, creating a simple and traditional appearance.

The cast iron has a protective wax finish rather than a modern painted or lacquered coating. Therefore, the surface retains the natural character of the metal. Slight variations in colour, texture and finish are part of the character of cast iron and should not be considered faults.

In humid or moisture-rich environments, we recommend periodically applying a suitable wax to help protect the iron.

Ideal for Shops, Cafés & Home Entrances

Although traditionally associated with shop doors, this bell can also provide a useful feature around the home. For example, it works well on a back door, utility room, workshop or entrance that may be out of direct view.

Pre-drilled fixing holes make installation straightforward. Please note that fixing screws are not included, allowing you to select suitable fixings for your particular door frame or wall surface.
