Medium Brass Scroll Bracket – Traditional Sand Cast

This bracket measures approximately 20 cm × 15 cm. Therefore, it works well with medium-sized shelves in kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, utility rooms and garden rooms. It also makes an attractive choice for alcoves and open shelving.

Traditional makers sand cast each bracket from solid brass. This process gives every piece its own individual character. You can expect variations in colour, surface texture and casting detail.

The solid brass has an unlacquered finish. Consequently, the surface will naturally change colour and develop a warm patina with age.

Versatile Installation

You can fit the Medium Brass Scroll Bracket with either the long or short side against the wall. This gives you greater flexibility when choosing your shelf depth.

The decorative openwork design also allows the bracket to become part of the overall look. Therefore, it works particularly well with open shelves where the brackets remain visible.

Natural Sand Cast Brass Finish

Traditional sand casting creates a finish with more character than modern machine-made fittings. As a result, each bracket will vary slightly.

You may notice darker areas, casting marks, slight surface irregularities and variations in colour. In addition, the unlacquered brass may show some natural tarnishing. The brass will continue to change and develop a deeper patina over time.

These characteristics form part of the natural appearance of traditional sand-cast brass. They are not faults and do not indicate that the bracket is second-hand.

We supply each bracket with its existing natural finish. If you prefer brighter brass, you can use a suitable proprietary metal polish, such as Autosol. Alternatively, leave the brass untreated and allow the natural patina to develop.

Please examine the product photographs carefully before ordering. Studio lighting can make brass appear brighter than it does in natural light. If you want a perfectly uniform, highly polished or flawless finish, this traditional sand-cast brass bracket may not be suitable.

Fixing Note

We include complimentary wood screws with each bracket. However, please choose suitable fixings for your particular wall type. You should also ensure that the fixings can safely support your shelf and its intended load.
