Round Mortice/Rim Knob Set – Beeswax – Anvil 33230

Traditional Hand-Forged Door Knob for Period Homes

The Round Mortice/Rim Knob Set in Beeswax is part of From The Anvil’s renowned Blacksmith Collection. Skilled craftsmen hand forge each knob from mild steel before applying a traditional Beeswax finish. As a result, this timeless door knob is an excellent choice for period properties, cottages, listed buildings, barn conversions, and restoration projects.

Furthermore, the classic design complements both traditional and country-style interiors while providing exceptional durability for everyday use.

Suitable for Mortice and Rim Locks

This versatile knob set works with both mortice and rim locks. It includes a loose collar, allowing you to fit the knob flush against the door or alongside a rim lock.

In addition, the set is compatible with a wide range of heavy-duty latches, locks, and thumbturns, making it suitable for many internal doors throughout the home.

For the smoothest operation, we recommend pairing the knob with a 3″, 4″, or 5″ heavy-duty latch or lock. Consequently, the stronger spring returns the knob effortlessly after use.

Installation is straightforward thanks to the supplied 8mm threaded spindle and matching stainless steel wood screws.

Traditional Beeswax Finish

The Beeswax finish is the most traditional finish in From The Anvil’s range. During production, each hand-forged piece is dipped in hot beeswax. This process preserves the natural blue, red and ochre tones within the steel while creating a rich, soft matt finish with exceptional depth and character.

Moreover, the wax coating provides excellent protection for internal use while enhancing the authentic appearance of the forged steel. Because every item is individually hand finished, slight variations make each piece unique.

Caring for Your Beeswax Door Knob

Your knob arrives fully waxed and ready to install. However, you may occasionally notice a light white bloom developing on the surface. Simply buff it gently with a soft cloth to restore the finish.

For long-term protection, apply a small amount of maintenance wax from time to time. Doing so helps preserve the finish and protects the steel from everyday wear and moisture.

Important Care Information

Although the Beeswax finish offers excellent protection indoors, it is not suitable for bathrooms, external doors, or damp environments.

Finally, always ensure that newly painted or varnished doors are completely dry before fitting your hardware, as trapped moisture may affect the protective Beeswax coating.
