Round Mortice/Rim Knob Set – Beeswax – Anvil 33230

Traditional Hand-Forged Knob for Period Interiors

The Round Mortice/Rim Knob Set in Beeswax is part of From The Anvil’s Blacksmith Collection, offering authentic detail for traditional interiors. Each knob is hand-forged from mild steel and finished in a rich, natural Beeswax coating, making it ideal for heritage properties, cottages, and restoration projects.

Designed for use with both mortice and rim locks, this knob set includes a loose collar, allowing you to install it flush against the door or alongside a rim lock. It’s compatible with a variety of heavy-duty latches, locks, and thumbturns, making it a versatile choice for internal doors.

To ensure smooth operation, we recommend pairing the knob with a 3″, 4″, or 5″ heavy-duty latch or lock. The strength of the latch spring will help the knob return to its original position with ease. Installation is simple, thanks to the supplied 8mm threaded spindle and matching stainless steel wood screws.

About the Beeswax Finish:

The Beeswax finish is the most traditional in From The Anvil’s range. Created by dipping each forged piece in hot beeswax, it preserves the natural blue, red, and ochre tones of the steel, resulting in a soft, matte finish with beautiful depth. While this finish offers excellent internal protection, it’s not suitable for external use.

Although the product arrives fully waxed, occasional buffing with a soft cloth may be necessary if a white bloom appears. For ongoing care, apply a small amount of maintenance wax periodically to maintain its appearance and protect the surface from moisture and wear.

Care Note:

Avoid using Beeswax-finished products in bathrooms or exterior settings. Moisture exposure may compromise the protective layer. Always ensure doors are dry and cured before installation.
