Medium Bean Thumblatch – Pewter Patina – From The Anvil (33649)

Authentic Period Styling with a Durable Pewter Finish

The Medium Bean Thumblatch in Pewter Patina offers an ideal solution for anyone looking to create a genuine period feel in their home or restoration project. Traditionally used on ledge and brace doors, this latch combines authentic design with practical function.

Crafted by hand, the thumb piece passes through the door, lifting the latch bar on the opposite side. A staple pin and a screw-on staple are both included to control the bar’s movement—simply use the one that best suits your installation and repurpose the other if needed.

The thumb bar accommodates doors up to 55mm thick, and the latch is supplied as a complete set, including all necessary fixing screws for a smooth installation.

Finished in From The Anvil’s Pewter Patina, this latch highlights the natural texture of the forged steel. Not only is the finish visually rich, but it also offers excellent anti-corrosion protection, making it suitable for both internal and some external applications.

Care Instructions:

Avoid installation on wet plaster or uncured paint, as chemicals may damage the surface. For coastal locations, we recommend using 316 marine-grade stainless steel products, as the salt air will eventually corrode standard finishes.
