This traditional brass rim lock suits internal doors in period properties, country cottages, Edwardian homes and heritage renovation projects. However, it also works beautifully in newer homes inspired by classic British design.

Dual-Handed Victorian Rim Lock

The dual-handed mechanism allows you to fit the Davenport Rim Lock – Aged Brass to either a left-handed or right-handed door. Therefore, it offers greater flexibility when restoring or updating internal doors.

The lock comes complete with two solid brass keys, a matching keep and the required fixing screws. As a result, it arrives ready for installation.

Hand-Aged Unlacquered Brass Finish

Each Davenport rim lock is made from solid, unlacquered brass. Craftspeople then age the surface by hand to create an authentic antique finish.

Because the brass remains unlacquered, it will naturally darken and develop a richer patina through handling and exposure to the air. This changing appearance forms part of the character of the product.

Alternatively, you can polish the brass occasionally if you prefer to maintain a cleaner and brighter finish.
