Aged Brass Finish & Care

From The Anvil creates the Aged Brass finish by accelerating the natural ageing process of unlacquered brass before carefully polishing the surface. Consequently, the finish highlights the darker detailing while retaining the warm golden tones of solid brass.

Unlike lacquered finishes, the brass will continue to age naturally over time. However, if you wish to maintain the original appearance, polish the door knobs regularly using a high-quality brass polish and a soft cloth.

Avoid abrasive cleaning pads and harsh chemical products, as these may damage the surface. In addition, always install your ironmongery only after plaster has fully cured and paint has completely dried, because construction chemicals and trapped moisture may encourage corrosion.

Finally, although the Aged Brass finish performs exceptionally well in most environments, From The Anvil does not recommend it for exposed coastal locations where airborne salt can corrode standard finishes. In those situations, marine-grade 316 stainless steel offers the best long-term solution.
