Octagonal Mortice/Rim Door Knob Set – Pewter Patina – Large – From The Anvil (33066)

Bold Octagonal Design for Statement Doors

This large Octagonal Door Knob Set in Pewter Patina is a bold and refined upgrade of From The Anvil’s original design. With its larger diameter and substantial weight, it brings a sense of grandeur to both internal and external doors. Whether you’re restoring a period home or adding depth to a modern space, this unsprung knob delivers both form and function.

Forged from steel and finished in a beautifully textured Pewter Patina, the knob showcases subtle variations in tone and surface detail. The unique ageing process enhances its classic character while also improving corrosion resistance. As a result, it works well in both traditional and contemporary settings.

Thanks to its loose backplates, this set is suitable for rim and mortice lock applications. The threaded spindle adjusts to fit various door thicknesses, while the grub screw locks securely into the ‘V’ groove—not the thread—for proper alignment. For comfortable use, install the knob at least 3 inches from the door edge to prevent knuckle scrape on the frame.

Octagonal Mortice/Rim Door Knob Set – Pewter Patina – Large Finish & Maintenance:

The Pewter Patina finish is created through a multi-stage ageing and polishing process. It results in a rich, matte surface with contrasting tones that highlight the craftsmanship of the steel. A final clear matt lacquer provides long-term protection, even in damp conditions.

To maintain the appearance, simply wipe occasionally with a lightly oiled cloth. Avoid installing the knob on fresh plaster or uncured paint, as chemical exposure may compromise the finish. For coastal locations, we recommend using marine-grade stainless steel, as the high salt content will eventually corrode standard finishes.
