Original Vintage Kenrick Vitreous Enamelled House Numbers – 50mm

Original vintage Kenrick vitreous enamelled house numbers, dating from approximately the 1950s. These wonderful old numbers are genuine new old stock and came to us in their original Archibald Kenrick & Sons shop display box.

Made in Britain by the renowned iron founders Archibald Kenrick & Sons of West Bromwich, the numbers have a beautifully glossy, dark grey/black vitreous enamelled face. Their distinctive typeface gives them plenty of period character and sets them apart from modern reproductions.

Each number measures approximately 50mm (2″) high and has two fixing holes for mounting to a door, gate, wall or wooden plaque. The width varies according to the individual numeral.

Original Vintage Condition

These are genuine vintage pieces that have been stored for many years. The glossy enamelled fronts remain in very good condition for their age. However, you may find small marks, slight imperfections and variations between individual numbers.

The unfinished metal backs show natural oxidation and surface rust, which is consistent with their age and long-term storage. We have deliberately left them in their original condition rather than over-cleaning them.

Please study the photographs, which form part of the description.

Original Kenrick Stock

The numbers came to us in their wonderful original Kenrick retail display box, labelled “Vitreous Enamelled Letters & Numbers” and showing the original price of 9d each with screws.

The original box is shown for provenance and display purposes and is not included with the individual numbers.

A lovely opportunity to use genuine British vintage ironmongery on a period property. These would look particularly attractive as house numbers on a front door, gatepost, porch or traditional wooden number plaque.

As these are original vintage stock rather than reproductions, quantities of each number are limited. Once a particular numeral has sold out, we will not be able to replace it.
