If your existing lock accepts a 7.6mm spindle, you can carefully enlarge the square opening using a sharp square file to accommodate the supplied spindle. In addition, we include traditional slotted grub screws for securing the spindle and matching slotted wood screws for fixing the backplates.

Like the original period examples, these real Bakelite door knobs are unsprung. Therefore, they should be fitted with a latch or lock that has sufficient spring strength to return the knobs smoothly to the horizontal position after use.
